Refund Policy

When CopyrightChecker refunds a charge (within 7 days if unused), how failed scans are handled, and how cancelling a subscription works.

Last updated: 2026-10-14

CopyrightChecker is operated by JINYAN LLC, which is the seller of every purchase. Payments are processed by Stripe.

Unused within 7 days: refundable

If you ask within 7 days of a charge and haven't used any of the credits it added, we refund that charge, minus the payment processing fees charged on that payment (they aren't returned to us when a payment is refunded), and remove those credits. This covers the Single scan, other one-time purchases, and each Creator or Pro charge, including renewals. Email support@copyrightchecker.org from the address on your account and tell us which purchase it is.

After 7 days, or once you've used credits from a charge, the charge is not refundable.

Before you buy, you can try the service for free: clip checks cost nothing, and the sample report shows exactly what a full scan gives you.

Failed scans: credits back automatically

If a full scan fails, for example because the recognition service is down or the upload can't be read, the credits it used go straight back to your balance. Scans that get stuck are returned the same way. You don't need to contact us.

A scan that finishes is not refunded because of what it found or didn't find. A report is an automated estimate, as explained in our Terms of Service.

Billing mistakes

If you were charged twice for the same purchase, or charged for something you didn't order because of an error on our side, email us within 30 days of the charge and we will refund the extra charge in full.

Subscriptions: cancel any time

You can cancel a Creator or Pro subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you've paid for: the plan stays active until then, no further renewals are charged, and you keep the credits already added. Cancel before your renewal date to avoid the next charge. The current period is not refunded, unless the 7-day unused rule above applies to it.

How long refunds take

Refunds go back to the original payment method through Stripe. Banks usually show them within 5 to 10 business days.

Chargebacks

If something seems wrong with a charge, please email us first. If you open a dispute with your bank instead, we may suspend the account while it is open.

Your rights

Where the law where you live gives you refund rights that can't be waived by contract, those rights still apply.
